Grade 2 Homework:

*Read a book or chapter each night and record in reading log.
*Practice spelling words for test on Friday (house, no, said, let, in, come, also, cake, make, bake).

*Finish homework duotang by Friday.

Gym class is fun!

We have a Welcome to Kindergarten meeting on Wednesday, October 26 from 6-7 pm. We can't wait to meet the new kindergarten children for next year! Come right down to the K-2 classrooms when you get to school.

Assembly on Friday at 1:20pm.

On Halloween Day, kindergarten will be visiting the Nursing Home in the morning. In the afternoon, the students will participate in activities in the four K-2 classrooms. Bring your costume to wear in the afternoon.

*Elementary Drama will be on Wednesdays from 3-4pm. All students in K-5 are welcome.
*We will have our first show and tell on October 20th, so start thinking of something interesting to bring in.
*October 21st is a curriculum day, so there is no school for students. The teachers will all be in meetings or training sessions that day, with everyone travelling to different parts of the province.
*Our first Welcome to Kindergarten meeting (for next year's kindergarten students and parents) will be on October 26th at 6pm, so please encourage anyone you know to register their child early for kindergarten (students currently in preschool).

*Halloween events on October 31st - bring your costume to wear in the afternoon.

October Concert and School Pictures this Week

Thank you to The Celtic Rathskallions who came and performed such a wonderful concert for us today. We learned so much about the different kinds of instruments and how they work! What was your favorite instrument that they played? Come tell me tomorrow at school and you can win something out of my prize bucket.
