...May Flowers!

Welcome to the wonderful month of May. I can't believe we only have 8 weeks left of school! This year has just flown by.

Grade One Homework:
*Practice spelling words for a test on Thursday (saw, draw, awful, Saul, autumn)
*Finish homework duotang by Thursday.
*Read a book each night and record in your reading log! Our top reader so far has read over 300 books! Keep reading and see if you can catch up to him.

Upcoming events:
*May 4: Jump Rope for Heart (make sure you have brought back in your pledge envelopes)
*May 5: Early dismissal at 1:30 for K-2 and 2:30 for 3-12 (so all teachers can catch the ferry)
*May 6: Subject Council day across the province for all teachers, so no school for students.
*May 8: Mother's Day
*May 13: Backwards Day and Show and Tell
*May 18: Curriculum Night for preK-2 parents and children (more infor to come next week)
*May 20: School Color Day (blue and gold)
*May 23: Victoria Day (no school)
*May 24: Annual GMTA meeting and PD session (no school for students)
*May 27: Twin Day and Assembly
